  • 10 pieces Large tortillas Use for wrapping the fillings.
  • 2 cups Cooked beans Any variety works well.
  • 2 cups Cooked rice Can use brown or white rice.
  • 2 cups Shredded cheese Choose your favorite cheese.
  • 2 cups Sautéed vegetables e.g. bell peppers, onions, and zucchini.
  • 2 cups Cooked seasoned ground meat Optional, for non-vegetarians.
  • 1 cup Salsa Use low water content salsa to avoid sogginess.

Preparation

  • Warm the tortillas slightly to prevent breaking when rolling.
  • Prepare your fillings: beans, rice, sautéed veggies, cheese, and optional ground meat.
  • Lay out the tortillas, scoop your desired fillings into each one, and roll them tightly (tucking sides first).
  • Wrap each burrito in foil or parchment paper; this keeps them fresh.
  • Place the wrapped burritos in the freezer.

Notes

To prevent sogginess, avoid using lettuce and raw vegetables inside the burritos. Add fresh toppings like sour cream or guacamole after reheating.
